Module for the tracking of meteorological measurement values - RES05

Electronic devices have rapidly evolved in recent years, becoming increasingly compact, powerful, and better – especially in terms of energy efficiency. New wireless technologies have also opened up new possibilities. The development of this new device arose from the need to create a new, future-proof platform. The module consists of a powerful, energy-saving 32-bit microcontroller and a series of precise analog-to-digital converters. All functions were developed with a targeted focus on energy optimization. Thanks to this energy-saving operation and the compact design, a smaller battery can be used when deployed as a weather station. Precise measurement results are transmitted wirelessly to the Elmed Cloud and are thus available anytime and anywhere. This allows for quick responses to changes.

Application

The RES-05 module was primarily designed to collect and monitor multiple meteorological parameters at a specific location. The device can also continue to send a response SMS with the current data upon request or inquiry. Additionally, the station transmits its measurements to the Elmed Cloud, where the data is displayed in a web application and smartphone app. Pumps or valves can be activated directly via SMS/App/Web command, but they can also be automatically triggered using threshold values. Updating the device – for instance, to integrate new functions – can be done very easily: either by sending a new firmware over the Internet or by reprogramming it through a USB stick connection. Since the RES-05 module combines all the functions of the two predecessor versions (RES-02 and RES-03), they can be easily replaced with the new module in existing systems.
